    Teaching Philosophy

I am a firm believer that not every golfer has the same goals in mind or the same athletic ability when taking a golf lesson. Therefore, it is up to the golf instructor to find a way to help each and every student improve their game no matter what their ability. During a student’s interview I like to learn as much as I can about you - your handicap, age, and length of time playing golf, strengths and weaknesses of your game, as well as any physical restrictions you may have. Our goal as instructor and student is to build upon the individual’s strengths, while gradually making swing improvements, remembering that our number one goal, whether taking an individual lesson or attending a clinic, is to have fun. Junior Golf This Summer At Timber Banks Golf Club Summer Vacation is just a few weeks away so now is the time to think about signing your junior golfer up for golf lessons at Timber Banks Golf Club. Learn to play at one of the best golf courses and practice facilities in Central New York. As a U.S. Kids Master Golf Instructor, I understand just how important it is to make sure that junior golf instruction is understandable and taught at a level the junior is ready for, most of all making the game fun. No matter what level your junior golfer is at, beginner, intermediate or advanced, I have the experience to teach your junior how to play and enjoy this great game. Here at Timber Banks GC, we use proven game-based teaching methods developed by the experts from U.S. Kids Golf. In my opinion it has never been more important than it is today that golf instructors understand the junior golfer they are teaching and what it is the junior wants to accomplish while learning the game. As a golf instructor and as parents of a junior golfer, we must ask these questions; Is the junior just playing for the enjoyment of the game? Does the junior enjoy competition? At what level does the junior wish to compete? Maybe they want to compete on their high school team or in local junior events. Is the junior looking to play in college or perhaps even at a higher level. It's up to me as their instructor/coach to be honest with them about where their game is now and what we as a team need to do to help them fulfill those dreams. On Friday mornings starting June 30th through August 7th from 7:30 to 12:30, I have set aside time exclusively for junior golfers. Simply call me to set up a time.
